- In a large mixing bowl or blender, combine the sweetened condensed milk, coconut milk, cream of coconut, and white rum (if using).
- Add the vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt to the mixture.
- Blend or whisk the mixture until it is smooth and well combined.
- Taste the mixture and adjust the sweetness or spices as desired.
- Pour the coquito into bottles or jars, seal them tightly, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, ideally overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
- Before serving, shake the bottle well to mix any settled ingredients.
- Serve chilled in small glasses, garnished with a cinnamon stick if desired.
Notes
Coquito can be made without alcohol for a family-friendly version. Experiment with different spices to customize the flavor.
