  • 12 ounces Fresh or Frozen Cranberries If frozen, thaw completely before using.
  • 0.5 cup Red Onion Finely chopped
  • 0.5 cup Orange Juice
  • 0.25 cup Lime Juice
  • 1 Jalapeño Pepper Seeded and minced (adjust to your spice preference)
  • 0.25 cup Light Brown Sugar Packed
  • 2 tablespoons Cilantro Chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cumin
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black Pepper

Equipment

  • Medium Mixing Bowl

Method

Instructions
  1. In a medium bowl, combine the cranberries, red onion, orange juice, lime juice, jalapeño, brown sugar, cilantro, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  2. Gently stir to combine all ingredients thoroughly.
  3. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. Add more jalapeño for extra heat or more brown sugar for extra sweetness.
  4. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. For best flavor, let the salsa sit in the refrigerator for 2-24 hours before serving.
  6. Before serving, give the salsa another gentle stir.
  7. Serve chilled with tortilla chips, grilled chicken, fish tacos, or as a topping for pork tenderloin.

Notes

For a smoother salsa, you can pulse the ingredients briefly in a food processor before refrigerating. Consider adding a pinch of cayenne pepper for extra kick!
