Mixing the Dip
- Prepare the Cream Cheese: Ensure the cream cheese is fully softened to room temperature. This step is crucial for achieving a smooth, lump-free dip. Place the softened cream cheese into a large mixing bowl.
- Beat the Cream Cheese: Using an electric hand mixer or a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the cream cheese on medium speed until it is completely smooth and fluffy (about 1 to 2 minutes). Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
- Incorporate the Marshmallow Fluff: Add the entire jar of Marshmallow Fluff and the vanilla extract to the bowl.
- Combine Ingredients: Continue mixing on medium speed until the marshmallow fluff and cream cheese are fully combined and the mixture is light, airy, and uniform in texture. This usually takes about 2 to 3 minutes.
- Adjust Sweetness and Consistency (Optional Steps): If desired, add the sifted powdered sugar now for extra sweetness and mix until just combined. If the dip seems too thick, add milk or heavy cream (one tablespoon at a time) until the desired dipping consistency is reached.
Chilling and Serving
- Chill the Dip: Transfer the finished dip into a serving bowl. Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Chilling allows the flavors to meld and the dip to firm up slightly.
- Serve: Serve the Marshmallow Cream Cheese Fruit Dip cold alongside your prepared fresh fruits, ensuring any sliced apples have been treated with lemon juice to prevent browning.
Notes
For a brighter flavor, consider adding 1/2 teaspoon of fresh orange or lemon zest during step 3. This dip can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
