  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 cup Milk Whole, almond, or your choice
  • 2 tablespoons Black Tea Leaves Or 2 black tea bags
  • 2-3 tablespoons Sugar Adjust to taste
  • 1-2 Green Cardamom Pods Crushed
  • 1-2 Cloves
  • 1 small piece Cinnamon Stick
  • 1 small piece Fresh Ginger Grated, optional

Method
 

Instructions
  1. In a saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Once the water is boiling, add the crushed cardamom pods, cloves, cinnamon stick, and grated ginger (if using). Allow the spices to simmer for about 5 minutes to release their flavors.
  3. Add the black tea leaves (or tea bags) to the pot and continue to simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. Stir in the sugar and mix well until dissolved.
  5. Pour in the milk and increase the heat to bring the mixture back to a boil.
  6. Once it reaches a boil, reduce the heat and let it simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  7. Strain the tea into cups using a fine mesh strainer to remove the spices and tea leaves.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy your homemade Masala Chai!

Notes

Feel free to adjust the spices according to your taste preference. You can also try adding different ingredients like nutmeg or black pepper for an extra kick.
