Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 12 ounces Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 14 ounces Sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter (2 sticks)
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 cup Heavy cream Optional, for richer fudge
  • 1/2 cup Chopped walnuts Optional

Equipment

  • Medium saucepan
  • 8x8 inch baking pan
  • Whisk
  • Rubber spatula

Method

Instructions
  1. Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on two sides for easy removal.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, combine chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, butter, and salt.
  3. Stir frequently until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth and creamy. This should take about 5-7 minutes. Avoid high heat to prevent burning.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and optional heavy cream. If using, gently fold in the chopped walnuts.
  5. Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly using a spatula.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
  7. Once firm, lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang. Cut into squares and serve. Enjoy!

Notes

For a richer fudge, add 1/4 cup of heavy cream to the mixture after melting the chocolate. Feel free to experiment with other mix-ins like chopped nuts, sprinkles, or mini chocolate chips.
