Ingredients

For the Pasta Salad
  • 8 oz pasta such as rotini or penne
  • 4 slices bacon cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1 cup romaine lettuce chopped
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • Salt and pepper
  • Chives or green onions

Equipment

  • Large pot
  • Colander
  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Serving Spoon

Method

  1. Step 1: Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted water according to the package instructions until al dente, typically around 8-10 minutes. Make sure to stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  2. Step 2: Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and rinse it under cold water to stop the cooking process and cool the pasta down.
  3. Step 3: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled pasta, crumbled bacon, halved cherry tomatoes, and chopped romaine lettuce. Toss these ingredients together gently to mix them evenly.
  4. Step 4: In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper until the dressing is smooth and well combined.
  5. Step 5: Pour the dressing over the pasta mixture and gently toss everything together until evenly coated.
  6. Step 6: Garnish with chopped chives or green onions for a pop of color and fresh flavor.
  7. Step 7: Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate for up to 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld.
