Ingredients

For the Pasta Salad
  • 2 cups cooked pasta penne or rotini
  • 1 cup cooked, shredded chicken
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1/2 cup Caesar dressing
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup romaine lettuce chopped
  • 1/4 cup croutons
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped parsley for garnish

Equipment

  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Wooden spoon or spatula
  • Knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Serving bowl or platter

Method

  1. Step 1: Start by cooking your pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. It's crucial not to overcook the pasta, as it will continue to soften when mixed with the dressing. Once cooked, drain and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process and cool the pasta.
  2. Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled pasta, shredded chicken, and halved cherry tomatoes. Mix gently to avoid breaking the tomatoes.
  3. Step 3: Pour in the Caesar dressing and mix thoroughly until all the pasta and chicken are well coated.
  4. Step 4: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and chopped romaine lettuce.
  5. Step 5: Taste your salad and season with salt and pepper as needed.
  6. Step 6: Just before serving, sprinkle croutons on top for added crunch.

Notes

If making ahead, store the salad without the croutons to keep them crunchy. Add them just before serving to maintain their texture.
