- In a medium saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, and water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until cranberries have burst and the sauce has thickened.
- Remove from heat and let cool completely.
- In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and mayonnaise until smooth using a whisk or electric mixer.
- Stir in the cooled cranberry sauce, minced jalapenos, and optional pecans/walnuts and lime zest.
- Mix well until everything is combined.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Serve with crackers, tortilla chips, or vegetables. Enjoy!
Notes
For a less spicy dip, use fewer jalapenos or remove some of the seeds and membranes. You can also add a pinch of salt and pepper to taste. This dip is best served chilled, but can be enjoyed at room temperature.
