  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 Medium cucumber, grated Excess moisture squeezed out
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh dill, chopped Or 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

  • Mixing bowl
  • Kitchen towel

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Grate the cucumber using a box grater or food processor. Place the grated cucumber in a clean kitchen towel or cheesecloth and squeeze out as much excess moisture as possible.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, and minced garlic.
  3. Add the olive oil, fresh lemon juice, and chopped dill to the bowl. Stir everything together until well combined.
  4. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning as needed based on your preference.
  5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. For best results, let it chill for 1-2 hours.
  6. Serve the tzatziki as a dip with pita bread, fresh vegetables, or as a sauce for grilled meats.

Notes

For a spicier version, add a pinch of cayenne pepper. Tzatziki can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
