  • 2 tablespoons Ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted butter, softened
Frosting Ingredients
  • 4 ounces Cream cheese, softened
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups Powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

  • 9x13 inch baking pan
  • Measuring cups and spoons

  • Sharp knife or pizza cutter

Method

Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add eggs, salt, and melted butter to the yeast mixture. Beat well.
  3. Gradually add flour, mixing until a soft dough forms. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, turning to coat. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
  5. While dough rises, prepare the filling by combining brown sugar, cinnamon, and softened butter.
  6. Punch down the dough and roll it out into a 12x18 inch rectangle. Spread the filling evenly over the dough.
  7. Tightly roll the dough into a log. Cut into 12 equal slices and place them in a greased 9x13 inch baking pan.
  8. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool slightly before frosting. For the frosting, beat together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Frost the warm rolls.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use brown butter in the dough or filling. You can also add raisins, nuts, or chocolate chips to the filling.
