- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, black pepper, soy sauce (if using), and garlic powder (if using). Stir until smooth and creamy.
- Add the drained green beans to the soup mixture and stir gently to coat evenly.
- Pour the green bean mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Top with 1 1/2 cups of French fried onions.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until heated through and the onions are golden brown and crispy. If the onions start browning too quickly, tent loosely with foil.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use homemade cream of mushroom soup. You can also add a sprinkle of paprika or a dash of Worcestershire sauce for extra depth of flavor. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
