  • 12 ounces Fresh cranberries
  • 0.5 cup Sugar
  • 0.25 cup Orange juice
  • 4 ounces Cream cheese softened
  • 0.5 cup Mayonnaise
  • 0.25 cup Jalapeno pepper finely chopped, seeds removed for less heat
  • 0.25 cup Pecans or walnuts chopped, optional
  • 1 Orange zest optional

  • Combine cranberries, sugar, and orange juice in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  • Reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until cranberries burst and the sauce thickens slightly. Stir occasionally.
  • Remove from heat and let cool completely.
  • In a medium bowl, beat softened cream cheese and mayonnaise until smooth and creamy.
  • Gently fold the cooled cranberry sauce into the cream cheese mixture.
  • Stir in jalapeno, pecans/walnuts (if using), and orange zest (if using).
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  • Serve with crackers, tortilla chips, or bread.

Notes

For a milder flavor, reduce the amount of jalapeno or remove all the seeds. This dip can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
