  • Milk
  • Vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon
  • Butter
  • Texas style toast, thick bread
  • Optional: powdered sugar, maple syrup

How to Make French Toast with Texas Toast

  • Using a large skillet over medium heat or electric griddle heat to 350 degrees.
  • Melt a tablespoon of butter in pan or on skillet.
  • In a large shallow bowl, whisk eggs, milk, vanilla and cinnamon together.
  • Soak the bread, one at a time into egg mixture, flip over and soak the other side.
  • Place about 4 thick slices at a time into pan, or an amount that will fit in the skillet or on the griddle.
  • Cook until golden brown on both sides, a few minutes per side.
  • Add the remaining butter, repeat the process and continue until all the bread has been used or egg mixture has been used.
  • Remove from pan and add toppings of your choice.
  • Optional: top with butter, maple syrup, brown sugar, powdered sugar.
