What Seasoning Go in Beef Stew
While there are many types of seasoning that can go into slow cooker beef stew, my go to seasoning are

- Slap Ya Mama Seasoning
- Onion Powder
- Red Pepper Flakes
If you can not find the Slap Ya Mama Seasoning, you can use a Cajun seasoning or make your own.
If you have a certain type of seasoning that you prefer, you can easily swap the seasoning to flavors you like. A bay leave will also work well in this beef stew.

Traditional stew meat is a tough cut of meat which is why it is perfect for cooking low and slow. While the beef is cooking in the slow cooker it is soaking up the flavor and juices of the liquid of the stew. When you cook the beef stew in the slow cooker the meat gets tender and will fall apart in your mouth.
Can It Be Frozen
This slow cooker beef stew is perfect for using as a freezer meal. Make a large batch of beef stew and freeze half of it. Once the beef stew has cooled, you can move it to an airtight container or a freezer bag and then store it in the freezer. The stew will stay good for up to 6 months.
How to Reheat Beef Stew
When you are reheating beef stew, whether it is from the refrigerator or the freezer, you can reheat it on the stove top in a large pot or you can reheat it in the microwave. When I am reheating a larger portion, I like to use the stove, while when I am making a smaller portion I will use the microwave.

How To Make Slow Cooker Beef Stew
Making this beef stew is easy because everything gets put into a crock pot and the crock pot does all the work!
Step 1: Prep
In a large skillet or cask iron pan, heat 2 tablespoons of oil over medium high heat.
Step 2: Seasoning the Meat
Using a large size baggie, add flour, spices and black pepper, seal and shake to mix. Add about half of the beef into bag, seal and shake to coat.
Step 3: Cooking the Meat
Remove the beef from the bag and add to skillet. Brown the meat on all sides then repeat process with the remaining butter and beef.
Step 4: Preparing the Vegetables
While browning the beef, peel and slice carrots, cube potatoes, slice celery, dice bell pepper and dice onions.
Step 5: Putting Everything in the Crock Pot
Spray slow cooker with a non stick spray and then add vegetables to bottom. Once meat has browned, add on top of vegetables followed by Rotel®, diced tomatoes and beef broth. Cover and cook on high for 7-8 hours, low for 10-12 hours or until meat is tender. In the last hour of cooking, add green beans, peas and corn, stir and continue cooking until vegetables are hot. In a small bowl, add water and corn starch, stir and then add to slow cooker. Stir. Serve with biscuits and enjoy!

Slow Cooker Beef Stew is a hearty and delicious stew recipe that is loaded with tender beef and an entire variety of different vegetables.
- 3 lbs lean beef stew meat
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp Slap Ya Mama® seasoning
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 4+ tbsp vegetable oil, divided
- 6 potatoes, peeled, cubed
