When you hear the word “stroganoff”, you probably think of beef stroganoff. While beef stroganoff is a delicious recipe that I love to make, I also love making a version that uses chicken. Chicken stroganoff has everything we love in classic, creamy beef stroganoff, but it has a twist of using tender, white meat chicken in place of the beef. It works super well, and it’s so delicious. But wait there’s more.

I love making chicken stroganoff. It’s a delicious casserole recipe that feeds a crowd, and it’s so easy. It’s one of my favorite casseroles to make, and I can’t wait to share it with all of you. It’s not a casserole that goes in the oven but we call it a casserole.

How to Make Chicken Stroganoff

Just like the ingredient list, making this dish is very easy. It only takes a few simple steps.

Step 1: Boil the Pasta

Cook the pasta according to the package directions for al dente. Then, rinse and set it aside.

Step 2: Cook the Chicken

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Then, add the chicken and sprinkle it with the seasonings. Cook the chicken until it’s no longer pink, then remove it from the pan and set it aside.

Step 3: Cook the Vegetables

Melt butter over medium heat in the same pan, and add the onions and mushrooms. Cook them until they’re tender. Then, add minced garlic and cook for another 1 to 2 minutes. Sprinkle flour over all and cook for another 2 minutes.

Step 4: Simmer the Chicken and Vegetables

Pour chicken broth into the pan, stirring constantly, and then add the Worcestershire sauce and stir. Then, add the chicken back to the pan and stir to combine. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.

Step 5: Complete the Dish

Add the egg noodles and stir until heated through. Then, remove the dish from the heat and stir in the sour cream. Enjoy!

  • 3 chicken breasts, boneless skinless, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Slap Ya Mama® seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 16 ounce baby bella mushrooms sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • cup all purpose flour
  • 32 ounce chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 16 ounce package wide egg noodles


  • In a large pot, boil water and cook pasta according to package directions. Rinse, set aside.
