If you live in Texas, you almost have to make barbecue. It’s as much a time-honored tradition here in the Longhorn State as Tex-Mex food. I love them both in equal measure, so I end up making a lot of barbecue, and one of my favorite recipes to make is pulled pork. It’s absolutely delicious right out of the slow cooker, oven, or off the grill, and it’s so good in leftovers, too! One of my favorite leftover dishes to make with pulled pork is BBQ pulled pork sandwiches. This is one of my family’s favorites, and I can’t wait for all of you to try it.

BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich

This delicious sandwich is a great way to use up that leftover pulled pork you made a day or two beforehand. Tender pulled pork combined with your favorite barbecue sauce is layered onto soft buns with may and fried onion strings for a classic barbecue dish that always hits the spot. Every bite is overflowing with barbecue and pork flavors, soft bites of a fresh bun, and of course, that classic, crispy texture and taste of fried onion strings.

Leftover Pulled Pork

Leftover pulled pork is what I love making these sandwiches with the most. Of course, they’re good with fresh pulled pork, but there’s something about day-old pulled pork that really seems to work exceptionally well. I think that extra day serves to make it even more tender, especially if you already made it with barbecue sauce. For this recipe, I usually use the leftovers from my pulled pork shoulder roast.
